Immigrant Guide believes in helping migrants from other countries in any way that we can. Be it legal services, healthcare, life insurance, or career services, Immigrant Guide offers a plethora of services for those who need them.It is also important to Immigrant Guide to cultivate a sense of community and bring together those who are new to the United States, in order to elevate the spirits of migrants and help them find home in a new country.Through community engagement events, such as independence celebrations like the Uganda Summit (www.ugandasummit.org) we can bring together migrants into a community and celebrate through the traditional dance and music of their heritage. These events will allow immigrants to engage in thoughtful discussion and cultivate a supportive and safe space for migrants.In addition to community engagement events, Immigrant Guide will introduce community dialogue events, which will be virtual, to discuss issues that are hardly discussed. These issues include, but are not limited to, mental health issues, sexual abuse of men, women, and children, and suicide.Creating a safe space to talk about these issues will allow Immigrant Guide to help educate migrants and hopefully reduce the cases of domestic abuse and suicide, as immigrant communities make up a large contingent of these cases.These community dialogue events will also allow those immigrants who have ‘made it’ in the United States to share their wisdom through their stories and inspire immigrants and migrants who are just getting used to living life in a new country.
