Mission: Easter Seals Work Resource Center empowers people with disabilities and disadvantages to improve the quality of their lives through employment. Target demographics: Easter Seals WRC serves youth and adults with disabilities and disadvantages in the Cincinnati area. Programs: Disability services- individuals with disabilities and other employment barriers receive work skills training and paid work experience in a packaging and fulfillment business environment, or through building ability, a woodworking and carpentry training and employment program. Employment enclaves and individualized follow-along services are provided for individuals with disabilities who are employed in the community. Ohio farmers coping with a disability or long-term health condition are supported through easter seals tristate's agrability collaborative, providing assistive technology, education, and other resources to promote success in agriculture. youth & family services- cincinnati public schools students with disabilities can enroll in programs facilitated by easter seals tristate including project search and career choices that assist with the transition from school to work. Youth who have dropped out of high school or are at-risk can enroll in wia youth or youthbuild to work towards a ged while training for employment in construction or other fields. Low-income youth are offered summer work experience to develop skills and explore career options. Worklink is a collaborative program to help families receiving public assistance transition from welfare to work. enterprise- building value is easter seals tristate's retail and deconstruction service that salvages reusable building materials for sale to the public. It provides on-the-job training for workers with disadvantages and disabilities in the areas of retail and construction. Easter seals tristate's career pathways program provides transitional employment to individuals with employment barriers such as a criminal record, lack of education, or chronic un-/under-employment. Participants receive industry-recognized credentials in advanced manufacturing during a paid work experience at easter seals tristate. audlt day services- easter seals tristate's adult day service and therapeutic social recreation programs help senior and non-senior adults with disabilities remain in the community and enjoy their non-working day. Day services at one of our three locations include physical exercise, social interaction, mental stimulation, and an individual plan of care. Veteran services- easter seals tristate's veteran services include academics for excellence and operation vets thrive that help veterans successfully transition from military to civilian life. Services include the community onesource phone line (1-513-878-2200) that veterans can call to access community services such as emergency food, shelter, health services, financial assistance, and help accessing military benefits. Employment services for veterans include resume and job search assistance, interview skills, and learning how to translate military experience into terms civilian hiring managers understand. Other- easter seals tristate assists older adults and persons with disabilities through the home choice program to move from institutional services and support systems to home and community-based settings. Easter seals tristate is part of a community-wide effort to address health disparities for individuals with disabilities. Exercise and nutrition classes, medical screenings, and educational programs encourage a healthy lifestyle for a population that has historically under-utilized community health services.
