Mission: The mission of the akron-canton regional foodbank is to feed people - fight hunger through the following:1. Increase food available to feed our region's hungry,2. Increase and leverage government resources,3. Mobilize our community,4. Build capacity and expand the reach of our member network,5. Inspire staff and member confidence,6. Strengthen financial stability and be great stewards of our money. Programs: To procure, warehouse, and facilitate the distribution of donated foods and other products to qualified organizations which serve people in need.

Mission: To receive and maintain funds in order to ensure the future of the akron-canton regional foodbank, inc. Programs: The organization receives and maintains funds to support the akron-canton regional foodbank, inc.

Mission: Collect, record & preserve the pedigrees and changes of ownership of haflinger horses in north america; to maintain a stud book and registry; to promote and support only one united states haflinger registry; to stimulate and regulate any and all matters such as may pertain to the history, breeding, education, exhibition, publicity, sale or improvements of this breed. Programs: Production of bimonthly magazine/newsletter, serving 614 members and 35 magazine subscribers. Magazine promotes our breed and gets the word out on points of interest to people who own haflinger horses. spring and fall auctions serve as a fund raiser for the registry, as well as providing an outlet for owners of registered haflingers to sell their stock. The purchasing and selling is open to both members and non-members. The spring auction sold 43 horses and the fall auction sold 1. national show - promotes excellence in breeding and training of our breed of horses. Also general promotion of the breed. 73 horses participate, from about 22 farms. Spectators are not charged admission, so it cannot be determined how many attend. Non-members may participate, although the horses must be registered.

Mission: First Steps believes in the fundamental value of human life. We support the mothers, fathers, caregivers and all others who raise children by providing a broad range of programs and services in confidence, free of charge, with compassion and care to families facing crisis situations or simply for personal growth. Target demographics: mothers, infants, children, fathers and teen parents Direct beneficiaries per year: 3100 client visits Geographic areas served: Summit & Portage County Programs: Material goods, diapers, formula, clothing and parenting/prenatal classes, life skills education. Mission: The purpose of Haven of Rest Ministries is to serve and glorify God through a Christ-centered outreach of love and compassion that responds to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of disadvantaged men, women, and children without regard to their race, color, creed or social standing.

Mission: The foundation was established to support and further the benefits being provided by mobile meals, inc. , a related 501(c)(3) organization. The foundation's activities include fundraising, investing liquid assets, and providing a building in which the related organization conducts its programs and furthers its exempt purposes. Programs: Direct support and absorption of a portion of rental expenses for building rented to mobile meals, inc. , an exempt organization.

Mission: Violet's cupboard, inc. 's mission is to provide holistic counseling to clients; to connect them with available resources; evaluate and plan for primary care services; and, to provide assistance for emergency housing and utilities. Programs: Case management provides counseling to connect clients with available resources, both internally and externally. Approximately 425 clients were served in 2011. prevention case management provides assistance in securing and maintaining lasting residency in new or current facilities. Approximately 90 clients were served in 2011. housing opportunities for persons with aids (hopwa) provides assistance for emergency housing and utilities. Approximately 90 clients were served in 2011. other program service expenses amount to; 23,431 of which 12,029 is project diversity, 65 is hrsa, and 11,337 is other.
