Mission: The Arc is an association formed in 1950 by family members and friends of people with mental retardation. Today there are 120,000 members and nearly 1,000 state and local chapters. The primary objective of the Arc is to secure for all people with mental retardation the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work, and play. The Arc is further committed to reducing the incidence and limiting the consequence of mental retardation through education, research, advocacy, and the support of families, friends, and the community.

Mission: The mission of rockland county association for the learning disabled, inc. (rcald) is to promote, support or operate educational, vocational, medical, social, recreational and residential facilities and research for all individuals who have learning disabilities, neurological impairments,or other developmental disabilities or related handicaps;to educate the general public as to their problems, and to promote the general welfare of such individuals. Through a wide variety of employment, residential, family support and social/recreational programs, rcald promotes essential social and vocational skills that enable people with learning and other developmental disabilities to lead independent, productive and dignified lives. In addition to providing direct services to adoloscents and adults with disabilities, rcald also offers extensive support and education to families, and guidance and training to professionals who are working with people with developmental and learning disabilities. Programs: Residential services - rcald offers adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live in individual or small-group living arrangements in the community. The residencies provide a homelike atmosphere for individuals with developmental disabilities spanning a broad range, from those who require 24-hour assistance and supervision, to those who need just a few hours of guidance a week. employment initiative services - rcald offers comprehensive employment training for individuals with disabilities. Through our partnership with participating companies, rcald helps to find employment opportunities suitable for placing our program graduates. home and community based services - the full range of home and community based services provide training and supports that enhance the lives of people with disabilities and stregthen their family units. family support services provide in home respite, service coordination, parent support group and a variety of structured recreation activities to entertain, educate and promote individual growth.

Mission: To provide care and services to the intellectually disabled. Programs: Adult day care: day habilitation for intellectually disabled adults. residential: residential habilitation for intellectually disabled adults. consumer support: health and well-being support for intellectually disabled service recipients. vocational rehabilitation and community integration.

Mission: We assist visually impaired, legally blind and blind people in extremely rural Northeastern New York State (counties, Franklin, Essex, Clinton and St. Lawrence). We teach them how to cope with a loss of vision and continue a fulfilling productive life in their own home or work. We teach home making skills, vocational skills, orientation and mobility skills, provide low vision screening clinics, provide low vision equipment, assist in accessing social services and provide information about low vision and coping with low vision. These services are provided free of charge to those who qualify. Programs: Currently the bulk of our services are focused on providing life maintenance skill training to newly blinded people or people who have suffered a vision loss making them legally blind. Many of these individuals are senior citizens who have suffered age related vision loss. We have a staff of five and contractors as needed who travel throughout a population of 282,000 people living across 7,582 square miles. Our professional staff show them how to successfully manage everyday home making, job and travel skills. This includes how to use appliances, how to organize food and clothes, how to measure ingredients, how to manage financial records, read correspondence, how to travel around a college campus and how to access services, etc. We also work with people who would like to stay employed or become employed and have a vision impairment. We have serviced over 8,000 people since 1989.

Mission: To provide employment, training and other support services to people with disabilities. Programs: See schedule o. Employment source, inc. (dba "servicesource" or the "servicesource north carolina regional office") is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit corporation based in fayetteville, north carolina. Established in 2001, the servicesource north carolina regional office is a leader in providing vocational training and employment programs for adults with disabilities in the state of north carolina. The servicesource north carolina regional office also has employment operations in ft. Knox, and louisville, kentucky. In fy 2014, the servicesource north carolina regional office served 699 people with disabilities, of whom 305 were direct employees of the company. Nineteen individuals with disabilities received assistance obtaining jobs with other community employers. Programs and servicesaffirmative employment operationsthe servicesource north carolina regional office directly employed more than 300 individuals with disabilities in fy 2014. The majority of employees (91%) worked on abilityone contracts, providing services to servicesource's federal government customers. Lines of business include food service operations, mail center management, call center operations, logistics and administrative support. Veterans employment and outreachthe servicesource north carolina regional office directly employed 17 veterans with disabilities in fy 2014. With funding through the syracuse university institute for veterans and military families (ivmf) vocational acceleration for veterans grant program, supported under a grant awarded by the walmart foundation to syracuse university, the servicesource north carolina regional office officially launched a warrior bridge program in fy 2014. In its first year of operation, the project is goaled to increase access to educational, training and vocational opportunities for 100 unemployed or underemployed veterans with disabilities. Other rehabilitation and employment programsthe servicesource north carolina regional office provides a variety of employment and rehabilitation services in addition to direct employment, including vocational evaluation, work adjustment training, job coaching, supported employment and housing services. The organization is also an approved employment network (en) through the social security administration's ticket to work program and works to place individual ticket holders into jobs within their community. Individuals with significant disabilities receive work-oriented services such as evaluation, developmental skills training, work adjustment, job placement and center-based employment at the organization's office in fayetteville, nc. All services and supports are designed to recognize the dignity of each individual, enhance quality of life and allow each person to maximize independence, productivity, talent and quality of life according to his or her preferences. In fy 2014 the servicesource north carolina regional office provided approximately 31,000 hours of developmental skills training for adults with disabilities in order to prepare individuals to live and work as independently as possible. Housingthe north carolina regional office served 40 families through its housing program in fy 2014. Servicesource offers affordable and accessible residential units to individuals with disabilities and low incomes in cumberland county, north carolina.

Mission: Access: supports for living inc. Provides industrial and rehabilitation services, residential services, counseling centers and crisis services, community services, and intensive clinical services to persons with emotional, developmental and/or physical disabilities in orange, ulster, sullivan, dutchess, columbia and greene counties, new york. Access: supports for living inc. Receives its principal support from medicaid and new york state contracts. Programs: Residential services - to provide essential care for people with developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, and physical disabilities (24 hour room and board, social services) employment and industrial services - to provide rehabilitation services to people with developmental disabilities, mental illness and physical disabilities counseling and crisis services - outpatient counseling centers and crisis services to persons with emotional, developmental, and or physical disabilities in orange, ulster, and dutchess counties. idd community support services - rehabilitation services provided to people with special needs (dd, mh, physical disabilities)family support services - program services that are person-centered to obtain individuals goals and supports families in the community with individuals with special needschildren services - foster care residential services to youths ages 12- 21 years old which are located in orange county and serve families.
